Thank you for the long answer. This is exactly what we are looking

is 3 legged OAuth implemented on iGoogle (or the iGoogle sandbox)?
It isn't yet, but it will be at some point in the future.
It will also help me.

Hey Guys,
The whole point of OAuth and OpenID is that users can use their social data
without actually having to provider their username and password to every
client that wants to use that information, so no there's no way to get an
OpenSocial user ID by using those technologies :-)
However the
Thanks for explanation Chris. My general goal was to ask user his
login email and password (for exmple from orkut) and to get his
contacts from social network. So I can login using soething like curl,
but I cannot use any opensocial api, because I don't know the ID of
logged user
This method (asking for a login and password) is often used in something
called screen scraping, you login on behalf of the user in the background
(using regular posts etc to the service, faking being a normal client) and
then parse the html returned to you ..
It's a horribly complex thing to do
Hi Chris,
Open Social use OAuth as an authentication mechanism and as per my
understanding suppose i want to extract some body friend list from orkut so
for credential I will have to call the Login page of orkut and that
person will enter all the credential information on this page means
Chris, I know that Oauth is much better then ask email and password,
but It's a technical requirement of the project :)

We have an application that needs to be synced with an iGoogle gadget.
We would like the application to use 3 leged Oauth to map our
application
Yea, I want to know this too (maybe through OpenID or OAuth).
