If you are going to support 1000-2000 clients, then you should consider Solaris
10 and not OpenSolaris. OpenSolaris is not that stable as S10 is. For
production S10 is recommended. I advice you to not use OpenSolaris for
1000-2000 users, but S10 instead.

Actually, I like the default Opensolaris desktop. But if you want something
other than Gnome, under Ubuntu I've used xfce, and like it. (I don't much like
Ubuntu's default look.) I see that they have a binary for Solaris 10.

Hi all,
I have a server set up with OpenSolaris 08.11, and I have a Brother HL-1440
attached to it (non-Postscript, PCL only). I would like to be able to print
from my laptop running the same OS, and two windows PCs, one running XP, the
other running Vista. I tried to set this up through IPP,
I've looked all over that site and can't seem to find any documentation. Before
I download it, is there a way to see what it does? I'm particularly interested
whether it has a clustered configuration.

New OpenSolaris 2009.06 install. I installed several 64 bit systems,
bare metals and virtual machines, all don't have the 32 bit version of

version is present on that system.

Hi,
I was just playing around with fuse a little bit on an opensolaris box running
in a virtual box. Then I had a situation where I had an assertion fault in my

executable to terminate. After that the mv command that
