The time you need to install OpenSolaris is much
larger than installing
SXCE, mostly trying to find which packages you've

This kind of extra effort is NOTHING compared to what those of us who are
moving from Linux to Solaris/OpenSolaris have to go through.
Hi System 5 ,
I have installed opensolaris 2009.06 again without any changes by me and

My Tosh M10 has been running 111b happily since September, for various reasons
(main because I was using it to work) I did not upgrade.
Over the break I tried an upgrade to b130, all I got was a *very* slow and
painful boot time, some errors flashed passed about issues with xfs and then it

You can do that now as long as you're willing to run
a depot server

However, if you're wanting to

It's inapplicable. We need rw fs, and we want changes to go into separate place

Hi,
Porting from Solaris is still much easier than porting from Linux.
This is one
reason why I still use Solaris as my main development platform.
In the early days of the OSS movement (in the late 1970s and early

people did care a lot on portability. Portability for OSS was

I'm running smartmontools-5.38 on OpenSolaris 2009.06 (snv_111b) without any
