Hi all, I'm completely green when it comes to OpenSolaris, so I'm wondering how
you go about to install a font! I've got my set of .otf files... But I don't
know where to put them or what commands to run and so on. Help very much
appriciated!

Open Nautilus window.
Go to your home directory.
Press Ctrl+H to show all hidden directories.
If not present, create a directory called .fonts (mkdir .fonts)
Copy your font files to that directory.
You should be able to see fonts added now.
