1) Choose Single User Mode
2) ifconfig ifname plumb
3) ifconfig ifname yourIP up
4) mount nfsserver:/distro-path /cdrom
5) exit - Install Menu
6) Install from NFS
that's it.

A minimal OpenSolaris install for people with less than 700 megs of RAM in
their computers already exists. It's called Milax and in graphical mode it
uses the XFCE windowing environment which has a light footprint and puts
minimal strain on your system resources. I run it on my laptop. Check it

not being based on IPS. I guess you could look around at the other distros that
are out there and see if you find anything you like. I think Belenix also
supports the XFCE desktop, which should make things run faster
In my case I would be looking for a minimal graphical install with X. I have
seen a number of posts from people looking for an OpenSolaris server install
with no X. I have directed them to Milax server to them several times.
Otherwise it is SXDE which is also cool too.
