I don't think separating "creator" like that is a good idea. Everyone in SL is
potentially a creator, at every moment, that's what

I like the suggestion that the "basic" mode be called something like "tourist"
or "introductory" or "beginners" mode. There's just so much stuff that people
need to be able to do that it seems to be ruling out, I can't imagine anyone
sticking with it for long. "Basic" implies that someone could

I agree Oz - but as I have found 91 hard-coded colours in /default/xui/en/
alone
I hardly felt like listing them all. I restrict myself to logging JIRAs for

Any hard-coded color is a bug - if you find them, please file an issue.

To be fair they have enabled skinning in Viewer 2.6.0, and I am
I like those: my mind was in a conflict whether the list should be
sorted alphabetically or, as currently done, by purpose. With names
like you are proposing, both would be the same!

It requires two restarts, doesn't it? One to quit and exit and restart to the
login screen, and then a second once you make the mode switch to advanced.
It's a great idea, but the execution needs some work. My concerns/impressions
so far:
1) As with a lot of other software, a significant chun

Sorry, I should make sure to
This is a great move, we've been looking forward to this for years. Am
thinking hot swap between modes without a restart could be a plus, a
separate smaller basic client could also be desirable ...I think.

"Trying the last Snowstorm 2.6.1 (http://bit.ly/hEA4Y1)
containing the new launch 'Mode' drop down.

I downloaded that build and logged in Basic Mode.
It's awesome.
