'make test' when building openssl 0.9.8g on SCO Openserver 507 using
either cc or gcc, produces this error:

There is this notation in the 0.9.8e->0.9.8f section of CHANGES:

  *) Fix crypto/ec/ec_mult.c to work properly with scalars of value 0
     (which previously caused an internal error).

Last version I tried building was 0.9.8e which was successful.
