Verified, still open: explicitely checked for 1.0.1-beta2 and 1.0.0g,
code in trunk is the same. 0.9.8 doesn't contain the problematic parts.
The define _POSIX_C_SOURCE 2 was added in

and slightly improved in

The #define _POSIX_C_SOURCE 2 at the beginning of apps/apps.c causes
string.h on Solaris not to declare strcascmp.
Shouldn't #define be protexct by an #ifdef for VMS?
