Do they (or anyone else) also intend to sponsor the same extension for the new v2.0 module ? I must say that in the rather extensive list of OS for the new module OS X and iOS are the two that are most obviously missing. __ OpenSSL Project http://www.openssl.org Development Mailing List openssl-dev@openssl.org Automated List Manager majord...@openssl.org

Well :-) I've *just* seen the following text in paragraph 2.7 of the user guide of module v2.0 : [pending] Addition of Apple iOS 5.1 on ARM [pending] Addition of WinCE 5.0 on ARM [pending] Addition of Linux 2.6 on PowerPC32-e500 [pending] Addition of DSP Media Framework 1.4 on TI C64x+ So, on the other hand there's no Mac OS X pending ? __ OpenSSL Project http://www.openssl.org Development Mailing List openssl-dev@openssl.org Automated List Manager majord...@openssl.org

We even have (or had) sponsors interested in funding the validation testing costs for AIX/Power, but were unable to arrange for the necessary hardware and software to test on. Correct; to date we have had no sponsors interested in funding OS X for the 2.0 validation. The 2.0 software supports that platform (thanks to the Thursby sponsorship for 1.2.4) and it could still be added via a change letter update. -Steve M. -- Steve Marquess OpenSSL Software Foundation, Inc. 1829 Mount Ephraim Road Adamstown, MD 21710 USA +1 877 673 6775 s/b +1 301 874 2571 direct marqu...@opensslfoundation.com marqu...@openssl.com __ OpenSSL Project http://www.openssl.org Development Mailing List openssl-dev@openssl.org Automated List Manager majord...@openssl.org
OpenSSL FIPS Object Module 1.2.4 support for Apple iOS and OS X
The OpenSSL FIPS Object Module 1.2 has been extended to include support for the iOS and Mac OS X operating systems, as the newly released revision 1.2.4. This new support was made possible by a collaboration with Thursby Software Systems, Inc, (http://www.thursby.com/), a leading vendor of commercial Apple enterprise integration products. This module corresponds to the FIPS 140-2 validation certificate #1051, see http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140val-all.htm#1051 The new 1.2.4 source distribution can be found at: http://openssl.org/source/openssl-fips-1.2.4.tar.gz An update to the 1.2 User Guide document should be forthcoming in a few days: http://openssl.org/docs/fips/UserGuide-1.2.pdf Note UserGuide.pdf is currently a symlink to UserGuide-1.2.pdf, but will soon reference the new User Guide 2.0 document for the upcoming OpenSSL FIPS Object Module 2.0. -Steve M. -- Steve Marquess OpenSSL Software Foundation, Inc. 1829 Mount Ephraim Road Adamstown, MD 21710 USA +1 877 673 6775 s/b +1 301 874 2571 direct marqu...@opensslfoundation.com marqu...@openssl.com __ OpenSSL Project http://www.openssl.org Development Mailing List openssl-dev@openssl.org Automated List Manager majord...@openssl.org
