Your code is fine. Don't use /usr/bin/java (the gnu jvm)! Install a
JVM from Sun or IBM or BEA or Blackdown, or Kaffe, at the very

is meant for C or I might be wrong.
So, I hope that I will get sufficient information from you on how to
integrate OpenSSL into my Java application.
Thanks. Your help is much appreciated.

Subject: Re: RSA-SHA1 Digest
I think I finally understand. This isn't
no problem there
yet, but my digest should be 28 bytes not 40 bytes.
I must be missing something or perhaps I need a holiday.
Any suggestions, even holiday ones, would be appreciated :-)

returns a string of length 28 Bytes but I
get 40 Bytes when I use the command: openssl dgst -sha1 -key mykey.pem

Can anyone help samples etc?

Hi, Marc,
If you download the not-yet-commons-ssl.jar I'm working on, you can
decrypt your file with the Java code I've included below. I tested using
Sun Java 1.4.2. Notice the password in the example:
char[] pwd = secret.toCharArray();

in PEM, I think you're
probably better off with the Commons-SSL library's PKCS8Key class as
opposed to messing around on the command line and cutting pasting
and all that.
