I followed the instructions and ran ./config and then /bin/make and during
the make I got this:
... (lots of successful compiles) ...
making all in crypto/buffer...
cc -I.. -I../../include -O -DAIX -DB_ENDIAN -qmaxmem=16384 -c
buffer.c
cc -I.. -I../../include -O -DAIX
