Using Quantum (Folsom) I have a weird situation. I can ping the outside
world from my VMs only after I assign a floating IP address to them. In
other words, I cannot ping the outside world by just setting up the quantum
router and without using floating IP addresses. The other issue, is that

What are the services one need to run on a compute node?
I have a controller which runs all the services as specified in devstack
and since I am running quantum with openvswitch I have also added q-svc and
q-agt to this node. Now I need to start a second node which will be only a
compute node.
Using the Dashboard GUI (on an openstack install on a single machine using
devstack with Quantum and OVS) and user Demo, I can create new networks by
using the button Networks under the Network section. A message says the
network was created and an ID is shown. However, I do not see anything
I have been using dashboard and things work just fine by using devstack.
However, all the messages I get on the Horizon screen start with the date
