Re: [Openstack] Another compute service instead nova

2012-10-16 Thread Nikhil Komawar

Hi Matt,

The different projects are ideally decoupled from each other so, you can try to
use glance standalone service for example. Yes, the communication is a REST
call. You could try and use glance with no-auth.

Hello Matthieu,
I don't know the answers to your question, but you can find more information on
the following page:
- [http://api.openstack.org] api.openstack.org
- [http://docs.openstack.org] docs.openstack.org
The Snooze projects looks nice, didn't read the whole website.
Kind regards,

Hi,

I'm working on Snooze ([http://snooze.inria.fr] http://snooze.inria.fr) and i'm
wondering if there is a way to integrate it in Openstack.
This cloud manager has a particular architecture and i don't want to rewrite
all the nova code ...
* So i wonder if it is possible to connect snooze instead nova ?
Ideally I would like to get snooze + glance + keystone running in concert.

* How each service (eg glance, keystone, nova) communicates with each other. Is
it Rest call ?

* Can I run glance alone without keystone to first try to connect glance to my
particular compute service?

Regards,

Matt

Re: [Openstack] glance image upload stable/folsom

2012-10-15 Thread Nikhil Komawar

Can you please share some more context details?

On what image are you trying to do the PUT request (what state is it in
already?, are you trying to update the meta-s or a member? etc. info would help
narrow down the scenario).

P.S. Also, feel free to file a bug and add such background details in
[https://bugs.launchpad.net/glance/] https://bugs.launchpad.net/glance/ so that
developers can easily look at it.

thanks,
-Nikhil

Subject: [Openstack] glance image upload stable/folsom

Hi,

Testing stable/folsom

It seems that Glance PUT /v2/images/{id}/file does not change the image status
from queued to active

anyway the file upload / download works fine

the workaround for us is switching to glance v1 only for this part

Hope to hear about your experience

Cheers
