Hi all, I am facing errors while launching instances on RHEL. The network.log says *cannot run lease-init script /usr/bin/nova-dhcpbridge* I did a liitle search and found out this linkhttps://lists.launchpad.net/openstack/msg08790.html, followed the instructions. I have the flag in nova.conf set i.e *dhcpbridge = /usr/bin/nova-dhcpbridge ( This file does exist)* But I still get the same error while launching instances. Any help is highly appreciated .Thanks -- --With Regards Pavan Kulkarni ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~openstack Post to : openstack@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~openstack More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Openstack] Error in Creating ssh keypair (Openstack Essex)
Melanie, Thanks a lot for your help. I tried the command * ssh-keygen -q -l -f id_rsa.pub (id_rsa.pub was generated by ssh-keygen before)* It ran without throwing any error. The output was: *the fingerprint id_rsa.pub (RSA)* On Mon, Oct 22, 2012 at 3:40 PM, Melanie Witt melw...@yahoo-inc.com wrote: Looking at the source for handling of the public key ( https://github.com/openstack/**nova/blob/stable/essex/nova/** api/openstack/compute/contrib/**keypairs.py#L108https://github.com/openstack/nova/blob/stable/essex/nova/api/openstack/compute/contrib/keypairs.py#L108), it's failing at generating the fingerprint for your key. Then if you look at the code for that (https://github.com/openstack/** nova/blob/stable/essex/nova/**crypto.py#L119https://github.com/openstack/nova/blob/stable/essex/nova/crypto.py#L119) you see the underlying command ssh-keygen -q -l -f public key file. Maybe you can get to the root of the problem with your key by running that command manually. Re: [Openstack] Error while installing Nova (OpenStack-Essex)
Thanks a lot Nathaneal. I am facing problems starting the nova-volume on RHEL. (log message- volume group nova-volumes doesn't exist) There seems to no proper documentation on resolving this for RHEL. I saw this issue being addressed for Fedora in this linkhttp://forums.openstack.org/viewtopic.php?f=16t=611 But am not sure if I can go ahead and use the same steps in RHEL. Anyone has any idea how to resolve this issue ? Any help is appreciated. Re: [Openstack] Error while installing Nova (OpenStack-Essex)
Great. Thanks again for the help Nathaneal :) All the nova services are up except the *nova-consoleauth.* I don't see any particular log for this service . Any idea where to look for the logs ?
