Re: [Openstack] Expected VLAN (not received): Deploy OpenStack Via Fuel

2017-08-23 Thread Mohan Kumar
Hi ,

Just create storage, management, private VLAN tags in the switch used
between jump host server and fuel nodes. By default configuration, Fuel
master expects 101,102,103 VLAN tag configuration

Re: [openstack-dev] [ceilometer][networking-sfc] Meters/Statistics for Networking-SFC

2017-07-28 Thread Mohan Kumar
Hi Rajeev,

The Chain Monitoring is the missing piece in networking-sfc . Vikram and
myself were discussed to introduce "SFC Manager" [1] (basically OAM tool )
few cycle before.

It'll continuously monitor an existing SFC chain, when any SF VM goes down
or any packet drop. It'll trigger alert and capture corresponding logs .
But we haven't started any implementation on this. Feel free to discuss
with community, IMO this feature will be great addition to networking-sfc

ports. If possible please find me over IRC #openstack-neutron in IST.

Re: [openstack-dev] [networking-sfc] SFC flows issue

2016-09-06 Thread Mohan Kumar
Hi Ravi ,

Could you share tcpdump on P3 as well ( sudo tcpdump -n -e -i
 "P3 tab-interface" )

IMO , the possible reasons would be

[1] port-security on SF port may block the packet , since it destined to
different ip address.

[2] The SF program may alter the IP Header (Destination field )

Flow rules are looks okay , and it shows packets are dropped in between p2
and p3 .

Thanks.,

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron][networking-sfc] Need help in simulating Service Function VM for forwarding packets from IngressPort to EgressPort

2016-08-18 Thread Mohan Kumar
Hi Ravi ,

I would suggest ,

[1] Use Ubuntu cloud images from "
http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/trusty/current/; , so you can do ssh login
and enable ipv4 forwarding by changing "net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1" in file
/etc/sysctl.conf

[2] In case of basic cirros image please add some static route as Jim
suggested or run some simple c socket program using gcc to forward packets.

Thanks.,

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron][networking-sfc] Unable to create openstack SFC

2016-08-17 Thread Mohan Kumar
Alioune,

tcpdump in SF ingress / egress tap interfaces will show packets flows . I
guess the packet not going through SFs .

You may check flow_rules packet counter and actions
field (actions=drop) on br_int to find where the packet actually get
dropping .

Please make sure you disabled security groups on SF attached ports :

neutron port-update --no-security-groups
neutron port-update --port-security-enabled=False

Thanks.,

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron][networking-sfc] Unable to create openstack SFC

2016-08-16 Thread Mohan Kumar
Hi Alioune,

Please find me in IRC * #openstack-neutron *name:* mohankumar*

Yes ,the error looks confusing , but logs at "2016-08-16 17:32:35.255 "
showing networking_sfc.services.sfc.drivers.ovs.driver function
called as *'ingress':
None * , Hence the create port_chain at sfc driver manager failed . Please
check q-svc log in neutron-log.zip

port_chain db record created then sfc driver got failed hence the code
attempting to remove db entry but it can't remove due to key constraints .
https://github.com/openstack/networking-sfc/blob/33d8014c1ef2d7a83578145f44bc41b1453cb257/networking_sfc/services/sfc/plugin.py#L41-L57

So you getting both errors (from q-svc log)

[01;31m2016-08-16 17:32:35.654 TRACE networking_sfc.services.sfc.plugin
[01;35m [00mSfcDriverError: create_port_chain failed.

01;31m2016-08-16 17:32:35.976 TRACE networking_sfc.services.sfc.plugin
[01;35m [00mSfcDriverError: delete_port_chain failed.

we not seen such issue in master / liberty stable branch , please let me
know your sfc code base or you did any local code changes ?

Thanks.,

Re: [Openstack] Devstack Auth Error in Neutron

2016-06-17 Thread Mohan Kumar
Karun,

Please check q-svc (neutron) service is running or not ! Error complaining
that keystone url is not reachable to authenticate , IP 192.168.202.130
should be reachable and keystone service should be active .

Maybe you can rerun devstack if you host dhcp ip got changed .

Thanks.,

Re: [Openstack] Devstack Auth Error in Neutron

2016-06-15 Thread Mohan Kumar
Hi Karun,

You need to set authentication identity plugins , It defines on which user
credential you want to execute open-stack commands . By default DevStack
installs 2 mains users 1. admin 2. demo

This is how you use the credentials of the user demo:

stack@devstack:~/devstack$ source openrc

This is how you use the credentials of the user admin:

stack@devstack:~/devstack$ source openrc admin admin

To go back to the user demo simply do:

stack@devstack:~/devstack$ source openrc demo demo

Thanks.,

2016-06-09 Thread Mohan Kumar
Alioune,

If you use networking-sfc master code , you can use create
flow-classifier without logical-source-port specified . But
if back-end driver is OVS , you will end up failure in ovs_driver checks .
If i remembered correct , logical_source_port restriction is
to avoid retrun packets to get reclassified .

Thanks.,

Alioune,

logical-source-port is egress neutron-port of source vm , typically
flow-classifier will classifies packets coming to this neutron port and
forwards to the rest of port-chain if other classifier conditions are
matches.

it should be ,

I installed SFC with OVS 2.4.0 and 2.5.0 and not seen any issue
