IMO, we should get a bunch of snapshots and decide which compression to use
according to the results of an experiment. XZ compression takes much
longer, so you will need to use parallel xz compression utility.

I would suggest to use:
1) multi-threaded utilities
2) use xz for small snapshots (1gb) and lrzip for bigger snapshots

We have a request https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1394487 for change
compression from gz to xz. This simple change halfs our snapshots. Does
anyone has any objections? Otherwise we will include this change in 6.0
release.
