Hi,
I got the same problem in a totally different project, but with the same
error.
From what I saw, the problem do not come from requests, but from
urllib3, which was updated to version 1.20 [1] 2 weeks ago.
Using urllib3 version 1.19 resolved my issue.

Seems that there are some issues with requests 2.13.0.
Try to install requests==2.12.0
