Adrian,

Ah we thought meetings are held at #solum.

Thanks, so we'll commence with 1308690.

Cheers,

  Keyvan,

The meeting did happen at 2100 UTC. Are you sure you went to
 #openstack-meeting-alt on Freenode?

I think bug 1308690 would be a great contribution. Please take ownership
of that bug ticket, and begin!

  Thanks,

  Adrian

  Hi Adrian, Roshan, etc,

We tried to reach you via the IRC channel Tuesdays night 2100 UTC, but
 guess that meeting got cancelled?

We'd like to set a start for our contribution ASAP, so going through the
list of bugs, the below one looked interesting:

Though I'm not sure this is the right one. Would you approve? If positive,
are there any sources on the topic other than the bug page itself? And
about the conventions you mentioned in the Skype call; what is the starting
point, do we just submit a pull request referencing the bug number?

 Kind regards,

 Keyvan

[openstack-dev] [Solum] Contributing to Solum

2014-11-18 Thread Keyvan Mir Mohammad Sadeghi
Hi,

I am not even sure that I'm posting this in the right place, but the
official Solum website was rather sparse on info regarding where to start.

As a compact intro, my name is Keyvan, I've been an active OSS
developer/admin https://github.com/keyvan-m-sadeghi since 2011, mainly
working on the OpenCog project https://github.com/opencog/opencog. I am
planning to create a cloud platform, in the long-term. We are a team of 4
ppl, right now we're most interested in Solum, as it'd make a strong ground
for our ideas. We all have strong Python skills and the team is willing to
set aside around 10 hrs / week for Solum development, initially.

I've read the wiki and there doesn't seem to be an 'Ideas' page where I
could see a list of projects to be done, best thing I've found so far was
the bugs page https://bugs.launchpad.net/solum, but I'm not sure on where
to start.

We really appreciate if someone could define a small-sized project for us
to undertake; that serves both for the purpose of getting to know Solum
code more in depth and also set a start for our contribution.

Regards,
Keyvan

Hi Devdatta,

 Hi Keyvan,

Great to hear that your team is interested in contributing to Solum.

While there is no 'Ideas' page, there is this:
 https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Solum/HighLevelRoadmap

Hmmm, surely this is a good breakdown of the milestones, but not
understandable from a noob/outsider's POV. I meant something along the
lines of http://wiki.opencog.org/w/Ideas

The team is currently working on the Juno-3 milestone.
In coming weeks we will be discussing the next milestone.

If you get a chance, please join us today in the team meeting.
It will be at 10.00am CDT in #openstack-meeting-alt channel on
 chat.freenode.net.

At other times you can find us in the
solum irc channel (#solum on chat.freenode.net) as well.

Nice, thanks. I am personally more of an ancient email-driven guy, but if
that's how to connect, I could certainly adapt.

Cheers,
Keyvan
