No, I didn't think a discussion was necessary. We did file bugs though:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1558397

Do you have any details on the impact that caused for Neutron? I
don't think I heard about it. Was there another ML thread I missed?

[openstack-dev] [Heat][Neutron] Mitaka RC1 available

2016-03-19 Thread Thierry Carrez

Hello everyone,

Heat and Neutron just produced a release candidate for the end of the
Mitaka cycle! You can find their RC1 source code tarballs at:

https://tarballs.openstack.org/heat/heat-6.0.0.0rc1.tar.gz

https://tarballs.openstack.org/neutron/neutron-8.0.0.0rc1.tar.gz
https://tarballs.openstack.org/neutron-lbaas/neutron-lbaas-8.0.0.0rc1.tar.gz
https://tarballs.openstack.org/neutron-fwaas/neutron-fwaas-8.0.0.0rc1.tar.gz
https://tarballs.openstack.org/neutron-vpnaas/neutron-vpnaas-8.0.0.0rc1.tar.gz

Unless release-critical issues are found that warrant a release
candidate respin, these RC1s will be formally released as the final
Mitaka releases on April 7th. You are therefore strongly encouraged to
test and validate these tarballs !

Alternatively, you can directly test the stable/mitaka release branches at:

http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/heat/log/?h=stable/mitaka

http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/neutron/log/?h=stable/mitaka
http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/neutron-lbaas/log/?h=stable/mitaka
http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/neutron-fwaas/log/?h=stable/mitaka
http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/neutron-vpnaas/log/?h=stable/mitaka

If you find an issue that could be considered release-critical, please
file it at:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/heat/+filebug
or
https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+filebug

and tag it *mitaka-rc-potential* to bring it to the release crew's
attention.

Note that the "master" branches of Heat and Neutron are now open for
Newton development, and feature freeze restrictions no longer apply there !

Regards,

Unfortunately, Neutron is also going to need an RC2 due to upstream CI
issues triggered by infra change [1] that merged right about the same time
RC1 was being cut.

Thanks,
Armando

Do you have any details on the impact that caused for Neutron? I
don't think I heard about it. Was there another ML thread I missed?

No, I didn't think a discussion was necessary. We did file bugs though:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1558289
https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1558397
https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1558355

And the stable/liberty change for those still seeing netcat errors there:

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/294591/

I'll get it in stable/kilo too.
