[openstack-dev] [all][infra] Switching images for testing
We're migrating already since Friday jobs using the so-called bare-trusty images to ubuntu-trusty images. These images are used for for most of unit and functional tests, for documentation etc. Devstack is still run on devstack-trusty nodes for now, but will also move at a later date. A direct benefit of this change is that bare-trusty images are only available on Rackspace clouds, while the new ubuntu-trusty images are available in all clouds that the CI systems use. This allows a better load balancing for these. We still have to convert some jobs and solve a few problems with specific jobs before we can make a general announcement and explain new possibilities that this change will bring projects. For now, if jobs suddenly fail, please check - as usual - the log files and if there is anything strange happening that always worked, please raise it on the #openstack-infra IRC channel. One note: We converted some names of jobs as well, so intead of gate-REPO-tox-ENVIRONMENT we change these to gate-REPO-tox-nodb-ENVIRONMENT if no MySQL/PostgreSQL databases are needed and otherwise to gate-REPO-tox-db-ENVIRONMENT. As final step, we will rename the nodb variant as default variant. Open changes are [1] and [2]. A more detailed announcement will come once this change is done.
