you should test your server without any openstack stuff on it, then
apply the same test with openstack installation.
There may be some negative impacts because of software installed by
neutron (mainly iptables).

We were trying to use haproxy as our LBaaS solution on the overlay. Has anybody
done some baseline benchmarking with LBaaSv1 haproxy solution?
Also, any recommended tools which w

size of the overlay (GRE / VXLAN packets) otherwise you will be introducing
fragmentation
