This got lost way down in my mailbox.
I think we have a consensus about getting rid of the newton branches.
Does anybody in Stable release team have time to deprecate the
stable/newton branches?

+1 for me, I haven't seen much interest in keeping these branches for
puppet modules.
I also would like to hear from our users though.

We've been talking for a while about the deprecation and removal of the
stable/newton branches.
I think it's time now that we get rid of them, we have no open patches
and Newton is considered EOL.
Could cores get back with a quick feedback and then the stable team can
get rid of
