I would say anything that we feel as useful information to people who read this
mailing list. In this sense features that got implemented, items we are
focusing on, as you mentioned resource bottlenecks on important items, etc.

I had the Roadmap page in mind as well partially, we could highlight the
plans/tasks from that page and also track progress.

ie. the new PTL should checkpoint with subteam leads regularly to review
spec status or identify missing resources on high-priority items?

as some feedback, re: news flash mails, we need a way to promote roadmap
backlog items better. i'm not sure anyone looks at Road Map page...
maybe we need to organise it better with priority and incentive.

Hi All,

+1 on the on demand meeting schedule. Maybe we can also have some news flash
mails week to summarize the progress in our sub-modules when we don't have the
meeting. Just to keep people up to date.

Will we already skip the today's meeting?

Another personal suggestion:

maybe we can have a weekly routine mail thread to present the things
need to be discussed or need to be notified. The mail will also list the
topics posted in meeting agenda and ask to Telemetry folks if a online
IRC meeting is necessary, if there are a very few topics or low priority
topics, or the topics can be suitably discussed asynchronously, we can
disuccs them in the mail thread.

any thoughts?

Hi folks,

I've recently noticed that our way of collaborating is now mostly done
asynchronously through Gerrit and the mailing list. Which is good since
it's easy for everyone to participate. Some synchronous discussion
happens in #openstack-telemetry, which is also a good thing since it's a
handy medium for that.

On the other hand, I've noted that our IRC meetings are being less and
less useful these last weeks. Most of them only ran for a few minutes,
and were essentially gordc doing his PTL smalltalk alone.

Therefore I would suggest to schedule those meetings every 2 weeks
rather than every week as it is currently.

Thoughts?

you don't like watching me talk to myself?

i believe this problem arises mainly at the beginning and end of cycle
where we don't have any issues regarding blueprints as they were just
discussed or won't be discussed. it also doesn't help that the meeting
time is tied to North America when most of our devs are not here.

that said, i do prefer following the cross project model. when should we
assign cut off for meeting items? we shouldn't make cutoff so late that
it causes people to sit around waiting to see if there's a meeting or not.

cheers,

That's a good idea, I'd be totally cool with that too. We could send a
mail indicating there would be meeting with a 1 week prior notice.

I can change the meeting page to inform people of that, if that's cool
with every one.

I especially agree that asynch (gerrit and email) interaction is far
more accessible and productive.

Another option on the meetings would be to do what the cross project
meetings do: Only have the meeting if there are agenda items.
