 I'd
encourage you to use the docs to really explain not just link to slide
decks. There's a better chance of maintenance over time.

Agreed - I plan on writing up docs, but when I find something really
good on a slide I'd like to be able to have a reference to it in the
footnotes - I suppose a works cited section, so I'm not plagiarizing.

I had been using a wiki page for a collection of videos at
https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Demo_Videos. But it ages with time.

Awesome - I'll make sure to add that link to some kind of
 further reading section.

Re: [openstack-dev] [Neutron] Developer documentation - linking to slideshares?

2014-02-04 Thread Salvatore Orlando
Sean,

You surely have my permission. If it's publicly available you should not
even ask for it!
Well, unless it's copyrighted, but at least I could not possibly copyright
material mostly stolen from other people ;)

On the other hand the issue with slideshare and such is that material might
come and go, thus causing us to have broken links.
Also, as a reader I would prefer to see everything in one place.
Therefore I'd suggest to create blueprints for ovs debugging and plugin
development, and then have people working on them in the framework of
neutron developer docs.

Salvatore

I'm hoping to add Salvatore Orlando's slides on building a plugin from
 scratch, as well as
Yong Sheng Gong's deep dive slides as references in the documentation.

First - do I have permission from the previously mentioned? Second - is
there any licensing that would make things complicated?

As I add more links, I will make sure to ask for permission on the mailing
list. Also, if you have done a presentation and have slides that
help explain the internals of Neutron, I would love to add it as a
