Re: [openstack-dev] [Horizon] proposal: alternating weekly meeting time [doodle poll created]

2014-11-25 Thread David Lyle
Thanks Richard for setting up the poll.

Today, we finalized on the new meeting times. The decision is to meet at
alternating times, 2000 UTC and 1200 UTC, on Weds. The meetings will remain
in openstack-meeting-3.

A schedule of upcoming meeting times has been added to
https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Meetings/Horizon

The next Horizon meeting will be on Wed Dec 3 at 2000 UTC in
openstack-meeting-3. I'll also send out a reminder.

1200 UTC is perfect for me.
The doodle was proposing 1200 UTC to 1400 UTC and in the 2 hours
bandwidth I can not be sure to be there. but if it's 1200 "on the spot"
I can for sure :-)
Since I couldn't precise this on the doodle I didn't select this slot. A
one hour bandwidth would have allowed more precision but I understand
you concern that the doodle would have been to long to scroll.

Re: [openstack-dev] [Horizon] proposal: alternating weekly meeting time [doodle poll created]

2014-11-23 Thread Richard Jones
Thanks everyone, I've closed the poll. I'm sorry to say that there's no
combination of two timeslots which allows everyone to attend a meeting. Of
the 25 respondents, the best we can do is cater for 24 of you.

Optimising for the maximum number of attendees, the potential meeting times
are 2000 UTC Tuesday and 1000 UTC on one of Monday, Wednesday or Friday. In
all three cases the only person who has indicated they cannot attend is
Lifeless.

Unfortunately, David has indicated that he can't be present at the Tuesday
2000 UTC slot. Optimising for him as a required attendee for both meetings
means we lose an additional attendee, and gives us the Wednesday 2000 UTC
slot and a few options:

- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 1200 UTC (Lifeless and ygbo miss)
- Friday at 1200 UTC (Lifeless and Jaromir Coufal miss)

If anyone else would like to play with the timeslots and numbers, I can
pass on the excel sheet and my code :)

According to the meetings wiki page, we should be able to get an IRC room
at any of the above times.

Thanks everyone who has responded. I'm going to leave the poll open until
the weekend to allow for stragglers to get their times in, and then close
it and we can see what the results are.

The poll is at https://doodle.com/47h3f35nad62ncnf scroll to the far right
to set your timezone.

I did it that way so that the form wouldn't blow out completely, and I
thought for our purposes of scheduling a 2 hour precision would be good
enough.

Quick Question:

Why is the length of the time slot 2h? Since it should take just 1h,
should I consider beginning or end of the meeting to be relevant? It is
challenging to find time slot between other meetings, since I might have
just 1h slot there.

Re: [openstack-dev] [Horizon] proposal: alternating weekly meeting time [doodle poll created]

2014-11-12 Thread Richard Jones
To clarify - I created the doodle in UTC (so the times in there are UTC
00:00 Monday to 23:59 Friday) but they will be shifted to your local
timezone - scroll all the way to the right to double-check that it's set
correctly for you.

Sorry for the confusion.
