[Openstack-operators] [osops] OSOps Summit Etherpad is up!

2016-04-19 Thread Joseph Bajin
Operators,

The OSOPs Summit etherpad is up and running. You can find this etherpad
located here. [1]

For those that are not aware of OSOps, it stands for OpenStack Operators.
Currently, we maintain the operators focused github repositories as well as
working with other projects to help address the issues that operators are
experiencing. If there is anything that you think that the OSOps group
could help with, please add it to the etherpad so that we can capture it.

No idea is too small or too complex for us to handle. Just putting down
your ideas will be a great help to atleast get others talking about them.

Thanks

Joe

Hi Hamza,

Do you have debug logging from the scheduling attempt? Output from `virsh
capabilities` might be of help too.

Thanks,

Steve

[Openstack-operators] Pinning Guest vCPUs to Host pCPUs

2016-04-19 Thread Benyatou Hamza
Hi,

I established a mapping between virtual CPU to the physical core following
this Mirantis guide [1], I went through it successfully but the problem I
have is that I am only able to launch one instance regardless of the the
number of vCPUs specified in the Flavor (2,4,16.).

Have you implemented this option before ?

Thank you

[Openstack-operators] [Telco][NFV][Austin Summit] Telco/NFV Ops Working Group Session

2016-04-19 Thread Curtis
Hi,

I've started to put together the etherpad [1] for the Telco/NFV Ops
Working Group Session [2] which is on Monday, April 25th from 4:40PM
to 6:10PM in MR-410.

If you can attend, please take a few minutes to fill out some ideas
and topics for discussion, as well as other thoughts on how we can
create concrete actions from the session. :)

Thanks, and looking forward to the session,
Curtis.

Re: [Openstack-operators] Configure cinder to allow volume delete when RBD snapshots present

2016-04-19 Thread Forrest Flagg
Eric,

Thanks for the reply and info about the changes coming to the RBD driver
for Newton. Since the changes are slated to hit in Newton is there a plan
to backport? This seems to me to be an important piece of being able to
use Ceph effectively for storage. What have people been doing up to this
point for backup and disaster recovery? Is there a current work around for
dealing with this limitation? Thanks,

Forrest

Yes, I'm planning to check how situation will change with all recent fixes,
but I will be able to do this in May or later.

Thanks! I have testing L3 HA + DVR in plans.

P. S.

I've updated environment description in report with some details.

You can try below:

cinder quota-defaults
cinder quota-show
cinder quota-usage

Thanks
