Some NVTs rely on wmi, but not yet the majority of Windows tests. Those
are using the builin-NASL protocol implementation. However, this is eventually
subject to change and we will have a library that covers all of the Windows
communication protocols and therefore will be clearly beyond just "nice
to have".
