I've done some checks and it seems that openvassd is running, as shown here:
# ps ax |grep openvassd
3797 ?Ss 0:00 openvassd: waiting for incoming connections
And this was the reasong why it showed the bind() failed : Address already
in use error. However, running openvasmd
Thank you all for your advices. I did what Jan-Oliver suggested, trying to
work with OpenVAS5 (it was impossible to even start openvassd4). For that,
I deleted all the files that appeared on the different install_manifest.txt
that were generated after each make install.
Now, when I try to run
Ok, I was able to solve this by runing updatedb. But now, I'm again at the
same point that I reached with OpenVAS4. If I run the check it tells me to
run openvasmd --rebuild whilst the openvassd is running. When I try to run
openvassd I get this:
# openvassd
log_init():open : No such file or

any particular reason why you try OpenVAS-4 while OpenVAS-5 is already there
and OpenVAS-6 going stable in couple of weeks?

It is the one on gentoo ebuilds (althought that installation didn't work
either) and I am running a couple of test. I'm going to recheck everything
one I have a free moment at the office and then come back with results. But
my idea is to test both OpenVAS 4 and 5 (and 6 when it goes stable).
