It turned out that it is extremely hard to moderate a
verified list of 3rd party packages with tested install guides.
Therefore I simplified the package page to just a link list to
third parties:
http://www.openvas.org/install-packages.html
Still, the support of the community is
https://www.kali.org/penetration-testing/openvas-vulnerability-scanning/
provides some packages.
and ubuntu ? some ppa?

about binary packages for OpenVAS-8.
We changed the website already accordingly:

stating that there are no packages yet.
