mount.cifs, or other words, the cifs kernel modules requires a number of pieces which are missing from its dependency. I spent a lot of time chasing this, and don't have the energy to chase it all up and make dependency patches etc, however if someone else does, I can say that it requires the follow kmod-crypto packages:
