[OpenWrt-Devel] r38914 breaks multiple WiFi interfaces
Since r38914 I can no longer have a AP and STA interface simultaneously on a WRT160NL. The STA will work fine but the AP SSID is not broadcasted. I'm not sure if this needs to be solved upstream on hostapd or needs to be patched. Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] Retaining WAN IP addresses across reboots
Please also note that the real time clock is important for knowing if the DHCP lease is still valid. Since most routers don't have a hardware RTC, there is no way to know it the DHCP lease is still valid before you get WAN connectivity to update the time with NTP. Nuno On Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 05:15, Stefan Monnier monn...@iro.umontreal.ca wrote: I note that the file /tmp/state/network contains the interface, ip address, and expiration time of the WAN DHCP lease... I'm wondering what's involved in writing that information into somewhere persistent where it can be reused on reboot? You may want to start by replacing the /var symlink to /tmp by a real directory. OpenWRT should be using the /var/state/network filename, so after performing the above change, the file will be preserved across reboots. If not, report it as a bug. I'm not sure if OpenWRT will later start udhcpd in such a way as to take advantage of this pre-existing file, but that's a second step. Currently openwrt doesn't accept a gateway that is in a different subnet in a static or dhcp config. That is due to $(route add default gw $gateway dev $iface) requiring that the $gateway is first reachable by another route. This is terrible for anyone trying to start. Should this be implemented on a standard way? Or should I create a table on wiki specifying the which port is which in different routers? Exchanging 4* with 4t, i.e., putting the default vlan on the wan2 port, breaks both lan and wan2 interface. Any reason? I don't see where the untagged traffic comes... Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] [PATCH] init.d/led should run after init.d/done to avoid led settings being override

Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] [OpenWrt] #6081: Wifi toggle package propose
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/5256 is quite different. To toggle script they used: | elif [ -z $(cat /var/state/wireless) ]; then | # empty state file signals deactivated wireless | $(logcmd) WLAN is OFF. Switch ON and set LEDS accordingly. | wifi up | set_leds ON | else | $(logcmd) WLAN is ON. Switch OFF and set LEDS accordingly. | wifi down | set_leds OFF | fi I checked the trunk version of wifi and calling wifi up or just wifi is the same. This means that this script can't enable connection that have the wifi disabled at the config file. Also that is impossible to use a default off on power up. I use the following script: | load_wireless() { | uci set wireless.${1}.disabled=$disabled | } | | setwifi() { | setled | | config_load wireless | config_foreach load_wireless wifi-device | wifi | } So it iterates over every wifi-device at /etc/config/wireless and disable/enable it. So I think it's also generic for whatever you want. There is still a little issue that I don't know if it's real an issue. And it is about checking the current toggle state. I use: | if [ $(uci get wireless.wifi0.disabled) = 1 ] So the question is: is possible to have more than on wifi-device? If so all solutions that I see have...more issues. -- \ Nuno Gonçalves / \ Bugs?
