I've just updated TP-Link Archer C7 v2 to 15.05. /etc/opkg.conf file is
identical to /rom/etc/opkg.conf. But I cannot install package:

First of all, congratulations to all of you for the great effort. I just
want to post a simple questionI have noticed that the the LUCI control
panel still returns a null MAC Address for both the wired and wireless
network cards. If I remember well, the developers are well aware of this
issue which is related to UBUS and LuCi itself.

Any chance to get this bug solved in one of the next maintenance commits ?

 Regards, Arturo

If you're doing a sysupgrade, please note you will likely end up with
outdated opkg.conf. This may stop you from installing modules and may
cause unexpected problems when installing normal packages, like:
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/19882
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/20439

To fix this please execute manually:
cp /rom/etc/opkg.conf /etc/opkg.conf

This problem is caused because 15.05 (and release candidates as well)
preserve(s) opkg.conf. This was fixed for the next release in r46491:

2015-09-11 Thread Daniel Golle
Hi!

I'm glad to see CC is finally out!

However, it seems like images for some boards got missing at least on
lantiq and oxnas.
See:
http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05-rc3/lantiq/xrx200/
vs.
http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/lantiq/xrx200/

http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05-rc3/oxnas/generic/
vs.
http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/oxnas/generic/

It'd be sad if they are not included in the release though we already
had them in rc3...

Cheers

Daniel

The release build obviously went through, otherwise there wouldn't be
any binaries to download. If you have an issue on your own machine, why
don't you open up a ticket with a proper error description + logs.

Compiling trunk brings in a lot more changes, some of which may introduce bugs
(that should be squashed before RC4/Final, but can catch someone in the
meantime)

I just cloned git://git.openwrt.org/15.05/openwrt.git, reverted the
reverts:

http://git.openwrt.org/?p=15.05/openwrt.git;a=commit;h=083654c25534c0fc55ea3224781fb71e6ad29067

http://git.openwrt.org/?p=15.05/openwrt.git;a=commit;h=4e318a6c103839d44af6eb9cf5052bbe74e5a202

ran make defconfig, make prereq, make menuconfig, selected EPG5000 and
it builds just fine. Am I missing something here?

Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] Chaos Calmer 15.05-rc3

I'm curious if others are affected by this issue:
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/19085
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/19579

CC r46069 periodically fails with tx timeout on the eth0 interface on a
UBNT Rocket M5, with reboot being the only resolution. The same device
flashed to latest BB does not see ethernet tx timeouts, despite heavy load
testing.

It this issue happens to occur on other devices, I would imagine this to be
potentially quite serious.

You can also define specific commits with "url^revision" ;)

@John: how about the following, then you can just do a
# ./scripts/feeds list -s -f > feeds.conf.release
and put that besides the conf.diff and people interested in replicating it can
just drop it in their checkout (as a feeds.conf).

but there's none for rc-3. Are there certain criteria targets to be part of a
release?

AFAICT the build isn't exactly one revision; it's r46163 + r46286 (the
OpenSSL update to 1.0.2d), but none of the fixes between them.

good idea. i am considering to also backport the reproducible build

Great to see we are getting close to the final!

I noticed that though package lists are now signed, the device-specific
binaries (ie. *sysupgrade*, *factory*, ...) are still not signed.
For the final release, it would be great to also have those files
signed, e.g. by signing the already created md5sums and sha256sums.

just my 2 cents...

I haven't heard of such an issue. This might be something specific to
your ISP which is outside of our range or maybe not, but I would need
more information such as a pcap of ICMPv6 / DHCPv6 traffic on your egress
interface to figure this one out.

thanks a lot.

Could you elaborate a bit? Which AQM system do you find inflexible,
qos-scripts or sqm-scripts?
Complex to set up, I wonder? Both systems have a luci GUI in which all you need
to do is fill in two numbers (Download and upload speed) and check one box and
in sqm you also need to select the interface on which to establish AQM (then
press save & apply) I wonder how it could be simpler? All the other options are
basically optional and help to deal with the fact that reality is complex ;)

Best Regards

Cool.

Does this "Fixed broken IPv6 downstream DHCPv6-PD and onlink-route
handling" fix the issue with loosing the default gateway for IPv6 and
only fixing when you reboot the router ?

2015-06-16 Thread Fernando Frediani
Anyone ? I am still investigating this issue and trying to figure out if
it's a Openwrt or ISP problem.

Would that changelog have anything to do with this ?

Hi folks,

I'm seeing an issue on my Barrier Breaker running on a TP-Link WR842ND
where it gets an IPv6 /128 to the WAN interface + /64 on the LAN
interface via DHCPv6 + PD, however it does NOT set the default gateway
by default, so I have to discover it and set manually using the
other-side link-local.
Even though eventually while running and after a few "Save & Apply" it
"mysteriously" looses the same default gateway I have set manually
(I'm guessing due DHCPv6 changing it every in a while to the original
when it booted - none). And it can't ping it anymore (the other-side
link local address). By the way, it's a cable connection.

For comparison I have another router running DD-WRT from 22/Nov/2014
connected to the same ISP in another point of the city and it works
fine DHCPv6, sets the default gateway by default and never looses it.

By any chance this changelog "/Fixed broken IPv6 downstream DHCPv6-PD
and onlink-route handling/" would perhaps have anything to do with
that problem observed ?

Thanks

a cleaner way is using .git/info/grafts

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/buildroot.exigence#merged_main_repository_into_a_single_git_repository

just replace BB with CC and so on

(i wasn't aware of this git feature until i came across that openwrt howto)

Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] Chaos Calmer 15.05-rc2

2015-06-14 Thread Luiz Angelo Daros de Luca
Guys,

I'm no svn-git mirror expert but is there any chance of having
15.05/openwrt.git branch with full history?
Is there a technical limitation/reason for it?

The git mirror of svn is a dead-end. I get history only until the branch
commit. For example, the first commit in 14.07/openwrt.git is "create
branch for barrier breaker (from trunk r41863)". It would be nice to keep
full git history (so the first commit in any branch would be "New
repository initialized by cvs2svn".

I did a ugly workaround creating myself a git branch on openwrt.git at the
branch point and merging xx.yy/openwrt.git back into it whenever it gets
updated (leaving merge-commits on the way).

Also, for a git repo, a branch would be just fine instead of a full git
repo (but separated repos is no problem if they share the same history).

If it is only a matter of smaller downloads, "git clone --depth 1" might
do it just fine.

Cheers,

Hm, the final will be "Chaos Calmer" aka "15.06" (June 2015)?

My best wishes and good luck for a cool final release!

actually tried it with the CC RC2 or only BB as you mentioned?

If not, then please try if CC makes a difference to you.

Re: [OpenWrt-Devel] Chaos Calmer 15.05-rc2

2015-06-13 Thread Fernando Frediani

Even though eventually while running and after a few "Save & Apply" it
"mysteriously" looses the same default gateway I have set manually (I'm
guessing due DHCPv6 changing it every in a while to the original when it
booted - none). And it can't ping it anymore (the other-side link local
address). By the way, it's a cable connection.

For comparison I have another router running DD-WRT from 22/Nov/2014
connected to the same ISP in another point of the city and it works fine
DHCPv6, sets the default gateway by default and never looses it.

By any chance this changelog "/Fixed broken IPv6 downstream DHCPv6-PD
and onlink-route handling/" would perhaps have anything to do with that
problem observed ?

Thanks
Fernando

All I'm suggesting is that it say:

- Added support for 464XLAT (CLAT) based upon RFC6877
(includes using heuristic to discover the PLAT side)

if one supported the new DHCPv6 option, then one would say instead:

- Added support for 464XLAT (CLAT) based upon RFC6877
(includes using heuristic to discover the PLAT side,
and supporting DHCPv6 option in draft-cui-intarea-464xlat-prefix-dhcp-00)

it's just google fodder so that IETF people can find the code, and
OpenWRT people can find the specification :-)

There seems to be no standardized RFC for this yet, as Bjorn pointed out.
So what we do currently if 464xlat is installed is trying to resolve an
record for "ipv4-only.arpa" (i.e. detect an existing DNS64) and if
we get a valid response use the first 96-bits of the result as NAT64-prefix.

Of course one can also manually configure 464xlat with a custom prefix.

The original spec suggests using heuristic to discover the PLAT side
translation prefix. See https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6877

There is a draft defining a new DHCPv6 option for it, but this is not
yet an RFC:
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-cui-intarea-464xlat-prefix-dhcp-00

Is this signaled in some way by DHCPv6?
If so, I imagine that there is an RFC# which says how it works, could be
listed here, so that google will find CC when people look for it...

I actually think that this is a terribly important feature set.

Having a generic profile was not intended in the way image creation
was previously implemented.
This is a known problem on all device-tree-based targets and the reason
for framework changes which would by now allow doing this properly.

Targets will have to pick-up the new image building code Felix
introduced in r43907 (which was improved a lot since and was already
used to replace the old approach for quite some boards)

However, having it implemented for all boards in 15.05 is not
realistic imho. Thus the final build will hopefully run for each
profile. (John, Kaloz: will it?)

I checked the downloads, e.g here
http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05-rc1/lantiq/xrx200/
and saw that only one image per subtarget is built.
As the image-creation is tied to the profiles, the buildbot probably need to
build for each profile.

John: Do you know if it is possible to add a "generic" profile to build all
images in one run?
Or why it is necessary to select a specific model for the build?
