sorry for the delay - we finally found the problem. As already expected
the underlying Perl module used for SQL statement creation is too old in
Ubuntu Trusty.
Fastest workaround would be to install "SQL::Abstract::More" ( as root
user just type "cpan install SQL::Abtract::More" and

I can confirm the problem but I am unable to find the root cause at the
moment. It seems to work on debian but not on ubuntu and only for some
kinds of paramaters.
I will come back once we have a solution.
