Hi Alf!

Thanks for the reply. I figured that was the case. I'll get with Ceetron
and an OPM partner to get a quote moving forward.

Thanks again!

Hi Evan,

There is no usage on BSD afaik, and I am not sure how easy it is to get all
dependencies installed and linked there. There are Mac users on Flow, so it
typically compiles, and patches to keep supporting clang on Mac are usually
well received. These days I would assume Resinsight compiles on Macs, since the
Qt5 support came in (it broke when Apple depricated Qt4). However, please note
that none of the applications are officially supported on BSD or Mac, as there
is no funding for it. Same goes for most linux distributions. Only select
releases of Ubuntu and Red Hat has packages at this point. There are plans to
support Debian though. This means that if you want packages, you should
probably be prepared to also fund general support for the platforms.

Cheers,
Alf

Hi everyone,

I thought I would shoot this out to the mailing list to see what the
interest is.

I won't go into all the specifics, but my company is starting to switch
our infrastructure from Linux to BSD for a plethora of reasons.
Currently it's only for servers starting out, but hope to switch desktop
and workstations soon, too (FreeBSD or MacOS).

I'm wondering if there is any interest in the community to get a FreeBSD
pkg and / or a brew / macports install of opm and ResInsight? If I have
to, I will initiate a support contract to do this, but wanted to ask the
community first to see if I'm the only one.

Hope to hear from you all!
