Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] Cross-Project Visibility

2018-02-01 Thread HU, BIN
Thank you everyone for the feedback.

On our Weekly Technical Community meeting page [1], I added one item under
"Standing Items" section:

  *   Standing Items:
 * Cross-Project Visibility / Lightning Talk from Projects
*
Please add your project name, and possible presenter name in ""
for the lightning talk. Then based on available room at each week's agenda, I
will schedule the lightning talk on Thursdays. First come, first serve.

Thanks

Subject: [opnfv-tech-discuss] Cross-Project Visibility

Hello community,

At the Plugfest in Oregon, Emma Foley and Al Morton discussed a great idea to
increase cross-project visibility in the community.

The idea is to have a regular session where different project teams would give
a lightning update (5-10 minutes) to inform the rest of the community of how
the project is progressing, and highlight any new features that could be of
interest to other project teams/end users. It would be a good way to keep users
informed and excited for the releases. This could facilitate the creation and
utilization of common functionality, instead of duplication of effort, as well
as increase collaboration between projects.

PTL or any delegate of a project can give this lightning update.

The lightning update could be once a month, or whenever a project is ready to
present. We can allocate time slots on weekly technical discussions on
Thursdays for this lightning talk of projects.

Please share your feedback regarding the proposal of lighting update of
projects to increase cross-project visibility and collaboration.

Thank you
Bin

[opnfv-tech-discuss] Summary of Weekly Technical Community Discussion Thursday February 01, 2018

2018-02-01 Thread HU, BIN
Hello community,

Thank you all for attending the technical discussion today.

Today, Fatih Degirmenci<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~fdegir> gave an update
of XCI activity.

Then we continued the discussion from TSC meeting about Apex project joining
XCI release model, and the implication. Because Dave
Neary<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~dneary> was in transit and wasn't able to
attend the meeting, we will continue to discuss this topic next week February
8th as the 1st agenda item for at least 30 minutes.

We finally discussed Aric Gardner<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~admin>'s
proposal to push INFO.yaml for all repos, which is needed for test API auth.
All agreed to move forward.

The 2nd round discussion of new project proposal
C-RAN<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/PROJ/C-RAN> was on agenda. But the author
Changming Bai<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~baichm323> was absent, so this
discussion was postponed to next week February 8th.

For more details, please refer to the meeting minutes page [1], which includes
attendees list and IRC log [2].

On Thursday next week (February 8th), we will have the following items:

- Apex/XCI Release Model Discussion (Dave
Neary<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~dneary> and Tim
Rozet<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~trozet>)

- 2nd-round of discussion of new project proposal
C-RAN<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/PROJ/C-RAN> (by Changming
Bai<https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/~baichm323>)

Thanks

Bin

Hi Alex,

I would like to support it.
I'm not sure whether we can provide it before version 1.0 released.
Currently, I suggest only cares about net_config to save time.
