Hello, I'm not part of the Barometer project, however I found this thread interesting, so here's my $0.02 (CAD). On an internal project, we have started evaluating the use of NATS [1] vs. Kafka for high throughput collection of telemetry. I don't have any stats collected at this time. [1]

Hi Maryam, We have just finished a preliminary evaluation of Kakfa + collectd. On the Kafka side, we have simulated up to 700 servers sending telemetry data and have experimented with different broker setups with regards to number of partitions, replication factor, etc... What we see is average
