services for the South Carolina Medicaid Member Management System. The
WebSphere Administrator will be responsible for the design, configuration,
integration, installation and maintenance of the application server
environment and middleware applications on a Red Hat Linux infrastructure.
This position will work on one of the States most complex information
technology projects as Clemson migrates the States existing mainframe
Medicaid systems to modern technology environments and platforms. Work will
often be conducted in the evening and night hours.THE STATE EXPECTS THE

SKILLS:Application Servers: IBM WebSphere, jboss Application

attractive.SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:Clemson University’s Medicaid Information
Technology Services (MITS) team develops and operates systems on behalf of
the State’s Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS). Clemson’s
MITS team will be responsible for the project management and oversight of
this project.DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Installs, configures,
integrates, maintains and troubleshoots application server instances and
environments.Provides WebSphere technical support to the application
developers for the development, QA and production environments. Assures
Production and supporting environments are kept updated and in sync.Serves
as a liaison between the development teams and server administration teams
as it relates to the web based applications. Effectively maintains all
application servers by performing maintenance to include patching and
upgrades as necessary.Ensures application server security integrity by
reviewing and implementing policies within the system.Monitors availability
of the application servers and optimizes configurations to provide
appropriate performance and availability.Automates the deployment process
for updating the applications. Develops, documents and sets standards for
supporting overall web infrastructure.Develops, monitors during the evening
hours occasionally.REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):Ability to
install and configure WebSphere ND and single instanceExperience working in
several state systemsKnowledge of installation and deployment of Java
enterprise applicationsKnowledge of WebSphere connection to back-end
resources (jdbc, LDAP, etc.)Expertise in configuration of WebSphere
