Network Engineer in Chicago, IL For 1+ Year contract !!

Must have at least 12 years of experience in Networking.
Sr. Network Analyst for our client in Chicago, IL. This is a 1+ year
contract opportunity.

The Senior Network Analyst is responsible for the design, install and
support company computer systems, as well as local-area networks (LAN),
wide-area networks (WAN), network segments, and Internet and Intranet
systems.  The Senior Network Analyst maintains network hardware and
software, analyzes problems, and monitors networks to ensure their
availability to system users. The Senior Network Analyst is also
responsible for gathering data to identify customer needs and apply that
data in identifying, interpreting and evaluating systems and network
requirements as well as coordinating and implementing network security
measures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes network management support tools to provide network statistics to
the Network Support Team Manager.
Leads a team of Network Analysts supporting the network infrastructure
including installation, management, and support through established best
practices and procedures.
Coordinates and monitors Network Analysts and provide mentoring and
coaching when needed.
Schedules and coordinates any network downtime with the Help Desk and
broadcast appropriate messages to end users.
Administrator for DHCP servers and responsible for VLAN scopes and static
IP log.
Works with other Network Support Team member across the Bureau and the
county WAN group in problem resolution.
Participates and represents HIS on Network projects across the System.
Serves as an SME on all network issues and provide Level II escalation
support to the Network Analyst position.
Attends and participates in the weekly Network Support Team meetings and
provides monthly usage reports.

Qualifications:
Extensive experience supporting a complex network environment
Working knowledge of Cisco Works, Intrusion Detection and Network Policy
Manager Software packages.
Working knowledge of Cisco's Technical Assistance Center (TAG) to open and
close support calls.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with end-users at
various skill levels.
Ability to work in a team environment and mentor other junior members.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and overall PC knowledge.
Must be able to multitask and require minimal supervision to bring network
related incidents to closure.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal
and external contacts.

Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Cisco certification in LAN management a plus
