Duration - 6-12 months Description - We are looking for a senior, seasoned, UX Researcher who can design user studies, conduct them, and synthesize the findings. Being a designer is a added bonus but not required The ideal candidate for this position possesses excellent visual design skills, a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, great technical know-how, and proven expertise in designing for the Web and mobile. Coordinate User Experience Research activities for products and services. These activities include, but are not limited to, identifying the appropriate user experience research activities; designing, planning and implementing these activities. This individual is responsible for coordinating, planning and executing Strategic and Tactical User Experience Research activities for products and services across platforms in a web-based environment. These activities include, but are not limited to moderated and unmoderated discovery testing, usability testing, card sorting, surveys, focus groups, interviews, task analysis, heuristic review, field and crowd sourcing research, etc. This individual identifies the appropriate user experience research methods/activities for each project, and is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, analyzing and communicating the results of these studies to the project teams. Research and analyze applications across domains (web and mobile) to determine appropriate user experience research activities Conduct user experience research activities such as usability tests, card sorts, surveys, focus groups, and interviews for complex products, services, web and mobile applications. Conduct research supporting activities such as planning, recruiting, analysis of testing activity results and deliver reports on time and with quality in a high-performance, fast-paced environment. Investigate and evaluate User Experience Research trends in the industry and communicate implementation recommendations to enhance the overall UX processes, incorporating new ideas, and recommending new methodologies and tools. Ability to act as an internal UX Research consultant by providing business and technical guidance on user experience research to Development, Product Management and other stakeholders. Work in multidisciplinary environment collaboratively to fashion user experience research activities throughout the software development lifecycle based upon current project needs, timelines and business drivers. Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and deliverables. Self-Starter with experience leading and incorporating user research activities within an Agile SDLC. The successful candidate should have the following skills; Four-year college degree in Human Factors, Usability Engineering, User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology or related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience accepted. 5-8 years of experience working in user experience research within a software development environment. Strong background in user experience research with software applications leveraging usability techniques that include some of the following: remote usability testing, heuristic evaluation, task analysis, surveys, focus groups, persona definition and field research. Experience with Morae, Usuara, iRise Studio and other research tools are highly desirable. Working knowledge of web, mobile and application design guidelines and related technologies, capabilities and related limitations is highly desirable. Past experience as an IA or UI designer in the web or mobile space is desirable. Past experience with visual design tools (i.e. Photoshop) and/or prototyping tools (i.e. Azure) is desirable. Strong problem solving, analytical skills and interpersonal skills Strong project and time management skills including multi-tasking in a fast-paced development environment.
