Position : MySQL DBA Location : Sanfrancisco, CA Duration : 6 Months contrsct to hire *Open for transfers/ TN visas, and green cards only* Job summary : Looking for a knowledgeable, MySQL Database Administrator to join our fast growing team! This individual will work on the Operations team managing our database systems, while working cross functionally with several other departments to achieve results- fast. • Work closely with the Engineering to design optimal database architectures for our cloud infrastructure • Identify and recommend tools and services for managing database infrastructure in all environments in the development lifecycle, including production and development • Hardware sizing and tuning requirements for database loads based in efficient use of multiple resources • Update and tune MySQL instances in a high volume environment • Responsible for the maintenance of the database, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery management Skills required : • 3 to 5 years of experience with MySQL preferably with Percona in a Linux environment • 3 to 5 years of experience with various RDBMS engines such as Oracle, Sybase, DB2 is a plus • 3 to 5 years of Linux OS experience • Solid working knowledge of MySQL performance and tuning • Solid understanding of various MySQL replication methodologies such as Galera, Master/Slave, Master/Master • Solid knowledge of logical and physical database design • Solid knowledge of InnoDB • Solid knowledge of MySQL 5.5 and 5.6 • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, PHP • 5+ years of experience working in a high volume production environment • Solid knowledge in schema design principles with demonstrated aptitude to apply best practices for scalable designs and influence developers Bonuses: • Startup Enthusiast.
