*Job Description:*
*Position:* Expert Network Engineer
*Location:* Columbia, SC
*Duration:* 12 months
*SKILLS REQUIRED**:*
1. At least 8 years of Experience in NETWORKING SUPPORT in Information
Technology.
2. Expert on Cisco, Brocade, Network Protoco
3. Experience with firewalls, including Palo Alto, web filters
4. Experience with highly segmented and secure network architecture
5. Hands-on technical knowledge of network and server operating systems
6. Current working technical knowledge of current network hardware,
protocols, and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, and DNS, DHCP.
7. Internet security
8. Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
9. Local Area Networks (LAN)
10. Wide Area Networks (WAN)
11. Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for policies,
procedures, and best practices.
12. Experience in monitoring infrastructure systems for Windows environment
13. Experience with Virtual Environments
14. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills a must.
15. Able to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products as
required.
16. Leading effective team meetings
17. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
18. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
19. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
20. Experienced hardware troubleshooting.
21. Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
22. Strong customer service orientation
23. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
24. The ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects up to 50
lbs, such as servers and peripherals.
25. Ability to craft proactive and automated scripts and tools
*SKILLS PREFERRED: *
*Highly Preferred:*
1. Experience within a NIST and/or PCI environment.
2. CISCO technology solutions
3. Current industry certifications for Microsoft, Security, VMware,
Brocade, Cisco
4. Support of web-based applications for internal (intranet) sites and
external (Internet) sites.
5. Knowledge of Change Management
6. Extensive working knowledge of Internet protocols, tools and
techniques including but not limited to:
o Internet Information Server,
o Server operating systems installation and configuration.
*Preferred :*
1. BA, PM, QA certifications & experience
2. Experience with Projects operating under PMI methodology
3. Advanced on Windows Server 2008, 2012, Active Directory, GPO
administration
