Project Description: The role is for Microsoft SQL database optimization expert, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements. Candidate must be expert at data modeling, mapping, service integration, troubleshooting, problem analysis and resolution coding, test, and implementation. Work with system developers to understand requirements. Provide root cause analysis to ensure that problems are properly resolved. Work closely with technical development teams to provide guidance and support for data design, entity relationship diagrams and/! or other graphical data design representations illustrating data flow and extraction, data dictionaries and high-level data architecture documentation. Must have skills to quickly determine the "root cause" of problems and improve the performance of the entire system environment. Necessary Skills (Must Have): SQL administration SQL Server SQL skills, with a broad understan ding of DB architecture, data warehousing concepts and technologies Experience tuning database and server for proper memory sizing, I/O distribution, physical space usage, load balancing, system resource allocation Expert knowledge of SQL Server architecture, installation, and administration including system monitoring, user management, security implementations, data management, database maintenance, capacity planning, network topologies and hardware configurations required to support a diverse range of applications.
