The Data Architect will also be responsible for architecting data

The Data Architect will also be expected to work with the Enterprise
Solution vendor to design Business Intelligence solutions based on the
vendor's data models and BI solutions OR standard the state standard
enterprise BI solution - Business Objects 4.1.  The Data Architect will
assist the customer and technical teams to establish an enterprise BI
portal using best practices and standard BI tools.
Ideal candidates will have a highly technical data background, but will
have moved into a data-centric functional architect role and must have
experience architecting LARGE data environments. Excellent customer
communication skills are critical for this position.
This position works directly with Deputy Directors, the Chief Data Steward,
Program Data Stewards – all customer staff. Therefore, excellent
communication skills and customer-facing experience are critical for all
candidates submitted to this position.   On the technical side, they will
work closely with the agency’s DBAs, Enterprise Architects and Application
Architects.  The soft skills are as important as the hard skills to be
considered for this role.
MGCB is currently evaluating their options for this new enterprise
solution. Currently, they run about 95% of their systems on Oracle 11g, and
have one very small system running on SQL Server 2008 r2. Systems are based
on Windows and Unix-Solaris operating systems.

This position will be working full-time on a large new development program
that requires an advanced Data Architect and DBA skillset while also
interacting with the department’s database support team. The program
involves working with several different projects for distinct business

The Data Architect develops strategies for metadata and master data
management, operational and analytical reporting, data archive and
recovery, and implementation and operation of database technologies for the
enterprise.

Module Support of the Project:
DHEC will require that the selected candidate sign the DHEC confidentially
agreement and/or Business Associate (BA) agreement if applicable. All web
services must be secure.
DHEC will require that the selected candidate successfully complete online
HIPAA training.
Contractors must be available to DHEC during each week, excluding state
holidays, throughout the term of the contract.
A weekly review between the contractors and DHEC to ensure the expectations
of this agreement are met.
All source code (compiled and un-compiled) will become the sole property of
the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Any
source code, data, product, or functionality resulting from this SOW or

*REQUIREMENTS*



Technical skills required for position:

· 3+ years experience working with Unica Affinium Campaign as an
analyst

· 2+ years as either a Unica Administrator or Application Support
Analyst

· 4+ years experience working with working with large, complex data
warehouses/data marts, specifically in Teradata

· 4+ years of SQL and manipulating large datasets for business
analysis purposes

· 4+ years creating and deploying UNIX shell scripts in a
production environment

· 2+ years with Teradata utilities (e.g. BTEQ, Fastload, Multiload,
Fast Export)

· 2+ years experience with configuration of ODBC drivers and
connections.

· 1+ year deploying and maintaining production job schedules with
AutoSys

· 1+ year web development skills (e.g. CGI, Perl) for departmental
website support

· Working knowledge of key Wells Fargo databases including C2T,
Hogan, BMG, EPSS, Hemisphere, and MDSS.



Management/leadership experience required for position:

· Experience leading less experienced database analysts in a
collaborative team-based environment

· Experience presenting results and recommendations to management.

· Ability to work in a *fast-paced* changing environment. Ability
to balance workload across multiple projects/issues *concurrently*.

· Self-motivated and can work independently with limited guidance.

· Be accountable for finding solutions to problems when they arise.

· Proven experience with System Development Lifecycles (SDLC).

· Experience building project plans of deliverables and resources
based on dependences and limited resources.
