The Data Architect will be responsible for establishing Policy, Standards,

Data Cleansing, modelling and ETL between the 27+ legacy systems to the
upcoming Enterprise Solution for MGCB.
The Data Architect will also be responsible for architecting data

business and technical perspective.  Working with the customer Chief Data

responsible for establishing best practices for Data Governance and
building the customer-centric data glossary and change management workflows

The Data Architect will also be expected to work with the Enterprise
Solution vendor to design Business Intelligence solutions based on the
vendor's data models and BI solutions OR standard the state standard
enterprise BI solution - Business Objects 4.1.  The Data Architect will
assist the customer and technical teams to establish an enterprise BI
portal using best practices and standard BI tools.
Ideal candidates will have a highly technical data background, but will
have moved into a data-centric functional architect role and must have
experience architecting LARGE data environments. Excellent customer
communication skills are critical for this position.
This position works directly with Deputy Directors, the Chief Data Steward,
Program Data Stewards – all customer staff. Therefore, excellent
communication skills and customer-facing experience are critical for all
candidates submitted to this position.   On the technical side, they will
work closely with the agency’s DBAs, Enterprise Architects and Application
Architects.  The soft skills are as important as the hard skills to be
considered for this role.
MGCB is currently evaluating their options for this new enterprise
solution. Currently, they run about 95% of their systems on Oracle 11g, and
have one very small system running on SQL Server 2008 r2. Systems are based
on Windows and Unix-Solaris operating systems.

This position will be working full-time on a large new development program
that requires an advanced Data Architect and DBA skillset while also
interacting with the department’s database support team. The program
involves working with several different projects for distinct business
units while also assembling the data in one place for reporting, analysis,
and validation.  All development is being done in a SQL Server/.Net
environment.   Experience in database design and modeling for new
application development is required.

Client is seeks an experienced data architect to provide senior technical
direction and leadership and serve as the chief data architect for the
Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) Legacy Modernization Project.   This is a
strategic initiative to modernize DVS application systems and data that
involves moving large and complex legacy data stores from mainframe IMS and
DB2 to distributed Oracle databases.  The selected candidate will be
responsible for overseeing and participating in all aspects of data
architecture, quality assessment, modeling and migration using tools such
as ERWin, Informatica PowerCenter and TOAD.  The selected candidate will
lead a highly-skilled team, including a Business Data Architect, Data
Modeler and an ETL Developer.

Specific Duties:
1. Participate as a senior technical subject matter expert in system

The Data Architect develops strategies for metadata and master data
management, operational and analytical reporting, data archive and
recovery, and implementation and operation of database technologies for the
enterprise.

Module Support of the Project:
DHEC will require that the selected candidate sign the DHEC confidentially
agreement and/or Business Associate (BA) agreement if applicable. All web
services must be secure.
DHEC will require that the selected candidate successfully complete online
HIPAA training.
Contractors must be available to DHEC during each week, excluding state
holidays, throughout the term of the contract.
A weekly review between the contractors and DHEC to ensure the expectations
of this agreement are met.
All source code (compiled and un-compiled) will become the sole property of
the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Any
source code, data, product, or functionality resulting from this SOW or

Provide issue remediation and subject matter expertise, share

to audit and resolve issues related to transfer of data files. May require
support during non-business hours.



*4.   Business and Data Analysis Support (5%)*

Provide senior management with information, typically summarized, about the
MDS datamart and overall C2T data warehouse. This information will be used
to either help drive new marketing strategies or understand the impact of
data modeling decisions.

analysis purposes

· 4+ years creating and deploying UNIX shell scripts in a
production environment

· 2+ years with Teradata utilities (e.g. BTEQ, Fastload, Multiload,
Fast Export)

· 2+ years experience with configuration of ODBC drivers and
connections.

· 1+ year deploying and maintaining production job schedules with
AutoSys

· 1+ year web development skills (e.g. CGI, Perl) for departmental
website support

· Working knowledge of key Wells Fargo databases including C2T,
Hogan, BMG, EPSS, Hemisphere, and MDSS.



Management/leadership experience required for position:

· Experience leading less experienced database analysts in a
collaborative team-based environment

· Experience presenting results and recommendations to management.

· Ability to work in a *fast-paced* changing environment. Ability
to balance workload across multiple projects/issues *concurrently*.

· Self-motivated and can work independently with limited guidance.

· Be accountable for finding solutions to problems when they arise.

· Proven experience with System Development Lifecycles (SDLC).

· Experience building project plans of deliverables and resources
based on dependences and limited resources.

· Experience with Advanced Unix commands (e.g. sed: text search and

· Teradata Order Analytical functions (e.g. rank over, partitioning)

· Recursive processing (e.g. SQL optimization, looping)

· Navigating complex data environments by using foreign/member keys
and effective dating concepts

· Campaign
