Required Qualifications:
•BS or MS in Computer Science
•7+ years of relevant experience in enterprise database management
•Work experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014 and/or 2016
•Strong understanding of SQL, its concept and applications
•Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of
software and to protect vulnerable information
•Optimizing, troubleshooting and outstanding analytical skills with the
ability to lead development teams and analysts to make changes to modify
existing database management systems
•Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time
and cost requirement to accomplish projects
•Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and
functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery
specifications
•Work as part of the project team to coordinate database development and
determine project scope and limitations
•Identify and evaluate industry best practices and trends in database
management to serve as a source of information and advice to upper
management
•Ability to analyze high-volume data against business requirements to
identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies
•Ability to handle multiple projects while being flexible to ongoing
priority changes
•Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate technical
ideas to non-technical people

Location: Columbus OH
Duration: 6+ Months

NOTE: !!Must Need LOCAL For F2F!!

Responsibilities include:
Design and configure server and database settings, options, security and
features to best meet application requirements.
Install, patch and/or upgrade SQL Server 2008 and above in a variety of
configurations, including virtual (VMWare), physical, stand-alone,
clustered and Availability Groups.
Ensure data recovery business requirements are met by designing,
implementing and maintaining backup, restoration, replication and disaster
recovery solutions for SQL Server.
Protect data assets by designing, implementing and maintaining appropriate
controls, such as groups, roles, data encryption and user access
monitoring.
Conduct capacity planning exercises to forecast the SQL Server investments
needed to support projected business growth.
Detect, troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server related performance problems,
such as resource waits, locks, CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and/or network
contention.
Create and maintain SQL Server database configuration items in a central
Configuration Management (CMDB) database.
On a rotational basis, provide 24x7 on-call support for production SQL
Servers.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience including coursework in
computer science is desirable.
5+ years of experience supporting SQL Server environments.
Must be able to demonstrate strong technical skills in the use of the
components of SQL Server and troubleshooting SQL Server issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to
interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and
subject matter experts.
Ability to work independently, set priorities and work off-hours, as
needed, to support maintenance windows.
Experience with VMWare strongly preferred but not required.
Experience with SSIS and/or SSRS preferred but not required.
Microsoft Certified Associate or Expert in SQL Server preferred but not
required.

SQL DBA
Our client located in the St. Louis MO area has a  great opportunity for a
SQL Server Database Administrator with SQL Server 2008 R2 experience. In
this role will be responsible for installing production database
environments that comprise of SQL 2008 R2 and 2012. You will work on a
small team that is responsible for deployment, installation, configuration,
replication and general maintenance of databases ranging from 500GB-3TB in
size.

Requirements:
SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 installation, configuration and troubleshooting
experience
Strong replication, patching and database tuning experience
Strong RMAN or any backup and recovery experience
Database implementation or migration experience
Experience in large 24X7 production environment
Working experience in a high-availability database environmen
