Role: Network Design Engineer

Location: Detroit, MI

Duration: Contract to Hire ONLY

*Interview: Phone + Skype OR In-Person.*

Date of start: April 20th




Reporting to the IS Operations Manager, Global Network Services the Network
Engineer position is responsible for the delivery of network services in a
global enterprise environment. The successful candidate must have a
detailed knowledge of networking technology with a specialty in *LAN and
WLAN products from Cisco.* They must be team oriented and have strong
leadership ability. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on
attention to detail and will have the authority of character to make sure
everything is done correctly and with integrity.



·         Responsible for all aspects of implementation and support of
Local Area Network   and Wireless Local Area Network technologies at
Client  sites as assigned

·         Assist in deployment of new projects and services in the global
enterprise

·         Work cooperatively with other engineering resources to maintain
technical standards and documentation as part of a unified strategy

·         Responsible for troubleshooting issues and issue management at
remote Client  facilities in the Americas

·         Work with Global Site Support to coordinate technical activities
and ensure global standards and procedures are adopted and followed

·         Collaborate with the Client Service Desk to ensure operation
issues are resolved within guidelines

·         Perform proactive system monitoring tasks and react to issues
quickly to avoid or reduce user downtime

·         Perform and manage preventative maintenance and updates required
to keep the environment operating within expectations.



Key Technical
Skills


·         Knowledge of Cisco Local Area Network platforms

·         Knowledge of wireless infrastructure utilizing Cisco WLCs

·         Hands-on experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools,
i.e. packet captures, Solarwinds, etc

·         Strong analytical approach to problem solving

·         Experience working in a formal change control process

·         Experience working in a standardized environment



Responsibilities:

·         Associates Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or related field.

·         8+ years of IS and business/industry work experience

·         8+ years of experience with network technologies

·         Cisco CCNA certified is strongly preferred

·         Solid process skills with an understanding of change control
processes and managing critical production environments

·         Strong written and verbal English language skills

·         Strong inter-personal, analytical thinking, presentation and
communication skills essential

·         Ability to work in a global team environment
