As a Senior Technical Writer, you should demonstrate strong writing skills and solid experience describing sophisticated server operations management and server technology (specifically, virtualization, virtual machines, virtualized environments, and general system administration). *DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:* Create information for experienced technical users as well as those who may be new to administering virtualized platforms. Information content consists of installation and upgrade guides, system administration guides, release notes, technical papers, and knowledge base articles. Collaborate with software developers, product managers, writers, information architects, quality engineers, and technical support engineers to develop information. Work individually and on a team to understand design documents and specifications, and use pre-release software to develop content. Create information designs documents and schedules. Update information for minor software releases and author complex documents from scratch for major releases. Use DITA to author high-quality information on schedule. Use XML content management systems to deliver content to a variety of formats for our Web site, including HTML, PDF, and eBook formats. Create Web pages and other collateral in HTML. Storyboard and script videos on key product technology, concepts, and tasks. *SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5+ years of experience writing software documentation for a technical audience. Experience writing datacenter and server technology documentation. Experience documenting complex system administration processes in virtualized environments, virtual machine configuration, and installation/upgrade processes. Knowledge of technical writing authoring technologies, including XML or DITA Basic knowledge of UNIX and HTML.
