Oracle RAC - for 1 - 5 node RACs. Need an Architect with good knowledge of implementation and product details who can lead. *Primary Job Responsibilities for the Database Infrastructure Architect Technical Knowledge:*** -Deep understanding and ability to teach and lead people and groups in the following technologies: -Database Software versions and capabilities - example Oracle 10 features and Oracle 11 features. What are the available vendor and open source offerings? -File System Creation and Solutions - example Oracle ASM and VERITAS File Manager -Storage use and design - When to use what speed and type of disk drives - How to use the disks to spread work load and to use the disks for high and low performance -Database Back up techniques - How to efficiently and effectively back up the data on-site, off-site, and across geographic data centers -Database Performance in WANs and Warm/Hot Back up sites - What technologies and techniques are available for building Databases across geographic data centers? How would you configure Databases to act or be enacted in the event the primary database is down for maintenance or unplanned outages? -Database replication - What technologies are available to replicate data intra-data centers and across a WAN to a remote data center. What are the pitfalls? What needs to be designed or developed in the code to avoid or address conflict resolutions? -Database design and performance - How to create efficient and well performing queries, tables, schemas, etc. -New Technologies - The Architect needs to keep up on the new technology from the vendors and open source communities.
