Job Title: Sr. Oracle DBA Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 1 Year *Need a very senior Oracle (10G) DBA, with a development background, and ideally one with Financials services experience.* *Sybase to Oracle conversion experience is key! This person will be a leader on this VERY IMPORTANT project.* Person needs to understand Oracle 'inside and out' to recommend and help performance tuning. Knowledge of Oracle's latest version of the RDBMS (11) is important. The client (the application on Oracle) applications doesn't support release 11 of Oracle YET; but it will in the future; so knowledge of Oracle 11 vs 10 is important from a 'planning / strategy' perspective... for the future in NT. *knowledge includes:* - complex SQL statements and PL*SQL stored procedures including the use of cursors and ref cursors - Oracle optimization knowledge - Oracle Performance tuning - Sybase to Oracle conversion experience - UNIX shell scripting with ksh - Experience with investment systems and DataStage is plus, but NOT required.
