6-12 month contractor position for a QA Tester with *healthcare experience*in Raleigh, NC. This position is on a long-term project and the position may be extended based on budget, need, and individual's fit within the department. *The manager would like a local candidate that is able to complete a face-to-face interview*. The ideal candidate will have experience specifically within *healthcare or Medicaid*. Experience within the public sector, preferably State or local government, is also preferred. The candidate must also have SQL experience. *RESPONSIBILITIES* Coordinates and performs complex testing tasks to assure application meets requirements and design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. *Essential Job Functions:* 1. Coordinates and tests, documents, validates the application, and in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards. 2. Reviews and generates complex test plans, test case data, procedures and testing scripts based upon functional specifications to meet business needs. 3. Utilizes complex software testing tools (Silk Test Manager and Issue Tracking) and develops complex test software (Silk Test) for use in automated test activities. 4. Develops complex test plans, maintains metrics, and interfaces with various engineering and operations groups, as well as vendors to achieve desired improvement goals. 5. Documents and shares all test results; responds to complex questions about the results to communicate status and ensure understanding. 6. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. *QUALIFICATIONS:* 1. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 2. Five or more years of quality assurance testing or programming experience 3. Experience testing large Healthcare systems. Medicaid experience is desired but not required. Experience with EDI transactions such as 837I, 837P, 837D, 270/271, 834, 835 desired but not required. 4. Working knowledge of SQL required, including inner and outer joins 5. Experience working with testing methodologies and software testing tools 6. Experience working with programming to understand product line software 7. Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel 8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team *Other Qualifications:* 1. Strong analytical and problem solving skills to analyze data, to identify and assess problems in the application, and to test modifications and enhancements 2. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel and explain methodologies and test results 3. Good presentation skills to present test results to individuals and groups 4. Good personal computer and business solutions software skills 5. Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel 6.
