Communicates & influences strategic direction & can represent IT at senior executive level • Identifies, evaluates and develops roadmaps for the integration of business processes, applications, technologies and infrastructure • Manages projects (resources, scope, budget, costs, schedule & overall project plans) • Collaborates with peers; researches, establishes and updates technical standards; manages application development lifecycle and methodologies, provides oversight on processes and other governance responsibilities • Provides guidance &/or conducts architectural, configuration, solution & quality reviews. Takes the lead on issues requiring coordination with all internal IT groups and other organizations, including vendors to ensure that issues are addressed. Directs team members as required for resolution • Works with third party vendors and clients to understand the business processes, work-flows, system integration processes where applicable, and write the Technical Interface or Data Model Specifications. • Develops and recommends solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure. • Develops technical and functional specifications from requirements for product enhancements (for both base and custom work). • Works with the product development team in relaying design and development needs of our business. • Troubleshooting and bug fixing. • Using business process engineering techniques, develops technical solutions and management processes to achieve overall objectives by means of implementing systems or enterprise wide solutions. • Able to work with vendors of the AMI systems which are supported by them as Software as Service. • Insure system operability; perform testing and debugging as per standard practices, including unit, system and user acceptance testing. *Skills & Requirements:* For this posting Client Information Technology is looking for an architect for its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project. This innovative $1.3 Billion project is the largest in Client's 180+ year history and will transform New York City, Westchester and Orange and Rockland Counties into a state of the art smart grid. This new AMI network will allow our customers to receive real-time feedback on their energy usage to help them conserve and save and will help us improve our best in class service by detecting and responding to customer outages more quickly. The AMI solution architect will be responsible for the state of the art integrated AMI IT platform that serves as the foundation of the smart metering network. This AMI IT platform consists of multiple vendor software packages supporting AMI business process such as meter deployment and asset tracking and meter data management. These vendor packages are integrated with existing Client core business customer and work management systems. The architect must possess the following experience and skills: Evaluating, selecting and implementing new technologies that meet needs beyond a single project or application, e.g. development, middleware, collaboration, visualization, information management or monitoring tools, API's, mobile technologies, enterprise scheduling; Developing accompanying processes or training; Influencing rapid adoption. Extensive experience required in conducting project, design, database or code reviews or problem resolution in support of projects other than their own.
